The Show Will Go On!

The production fraternity received some much-needed good news when it was announced that film, TV and commercial productions will be allowed to resume beginning 10 June, with strict adherence to the decided SOPs. Let’s get cracking and stay safe, everyone!

 

‘Sepet’ on YouTube

The achingly profound masterpiece by Yasmin Ahmad is now available on YouTube for free for a limited time only. The story about the complexities of an interracial relationship was first released in 2004 and appears even more relevant today in world gripped by the twin threats of a pandemic and racial intolerance and persecution.

 

Support the KLPaC Project

Jointly produced with The Actors Studio, the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPaC) is releasing its maiden digital show called ‘Indicinelive! Quaranstream Edition’, on 12 June. Directed by Freddy Tan, the 75-minute comedy show is set to entertain with brand-new sketches, character satires and song parodies, with the objective of collecting donations to survive these tough times. The Spirit of ‘Roh’ Ready to Soar

With the local screening postponed indefinitely, Kuman Pictures, the producers of ‘Roh’, shared some good news recently. The horror flick starring Farah Ahmad and Nam Ron will get a European Premiere at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, to be held virtually, later in the month. Congrats, guys!

 

This Week’s New Music

Nusarasa, a 5-piece rock outfit from KL has released ‘Mesra’, a swelling, hypnotic slow burner of a song that simply tugs at our heartstrings. It’s the band’s first official single and we can’t wait to hear more!
